(El Cajon) – El Cajon Councilmember Gary Kendrick has endorsed Santee Mayor Randy Voepel for the 71st Assembly District.
“Randy Voepel’s strong and steady leadership as Mayor has allowed Santee to make tremendous progress over the past few years,” said Kendrick. “He understands the importance of fiscal responsibility, pro-business policies, and limited government – exactly what we need more of in Sacramento. I know Randy will be an excellent representative for this district.”
“Gary Kendrick is an experienced and thoughtful leader who has done an excellent job of serving the residents of El Cajon,” said Voepel. “He’s an important voice within this district, and I’m incredibly proud to have him as part of my team.”
Kendrick has served on the El Cajon City Council since 2002.
Councilmember Kendrick joins Assemblymember Brian Jones, El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, El Cajon Councilmember Star Bales, and Santee Councilmember Ronn Hall among Voepel’s early endorsers.
Originally elected to the Santee City Council in 1996, Voepel was elected Mayor in 2000. Voepel is a U.S. Navy veteran with two combat tours of duty in Vietnam. A graduate from Saint Leo University, he is a businessman in financial services specializing in corporate benefits. He and his wife Susan have two children and three grandchildren.
