Cajon Valley Union School District President Justin Slagle Endorses Randy Voepel for State Assembly

Cajon Valley School Union District President Justin Slagle has endorsed Randy Voepel for the 71st Assembly District.

"There are few elected officials with as strong a record as Randy Voepel," said Slagle. "As Mayor, he's done an excellent job of ensuring Santee maintains fiscal discipline, implements pro-business policies, and prioritizes public safety. He will be a strong advocate for this region and for the issues that matter most to this district."

"Justin's role with the Cajon Valley Union School District has established him as a local leader when it comes to education," said Voepel. "I look forward to working with him when I am in the Assembly to find ways to establish greater local control for our schools."

Cajon Valley Union School District President Justin Slagle joins Assemblymember Brian Jones, El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, El Cajon Councilmember Star Bales, El Cajon Councilmember Gary Kendrick, El Cajon Councilmember Bob McClellan, Santee Councilmember John Minto, Santee Councilmember Rob McNelis, Santee Councilmember Ronn Hall and the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County among Voepel’s early endorsers. 

Originally elected to the Santee City Council in 1996, Voepel was elected Mayor in 2000. Voepel is a U.S. Navy veteran with two combat tours of duty in Vietnam. A graduate from Saint Leo University, he is a businessman in financial services specializing in corporate benefits. He and his wife Susan have two children and three grandchildren.
