El Cajon Councilmember Bob McClellan Endorses Randy Voepel for State Assembly

El Cajon City Councilmember Bob McClellan has endorsed Santee Mayor Randy Voepel for the 71stAssembly District.

“Politicians often talk about the importance of limited government and pro-business policies, but few often have the record to back it up,” said McClellan. “As Mayor of Santee, Randy has exemplified what it means to ‘walk the walk.’ Under his leadership, Santee has allowed businesses to grow, thrive, and prosper.”

“Councilmember McClellan is a dedicated public servant and elected official who has established an impressive record for El Cajon,” said Voepel. “He understands what it takes to ensure businesses can thrive, and I am proud to have him as part of my team.” 

Councilmember McClellan joins Assemblymember Brian Jones, El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, El Cajon Councilmember Star Bales, El Cajon Councilmember Gary Kendrick, Santee Councilmember John Minto, and Santee Councilmember Ronn Hall among Voepel’s early endorsers.
Originally elected to the Santee City Council in 1996, Voepel was elected Mayor in 2000. Voepel is a U.S. Navy veteran with two combat tours of duty in Vietnam. A graduate from Saint Leo University, he is a businessman in financial services specializing in corporate benefits. He and his wife Susan have two children and three grandchildren.
