Padre Dam Water District Director Bill Pommering Endorses Randy Voepel for State Assembly

Padre Dam Municipal Water District Director Bill Pommering has endorsed Randy Voepel for the 71st Assembly District.

"Randy has the ability, experience, and determination to succeed in Sacramento," said Pommering. "As Mayor, he's compiled an impressive record of achievement, and I have full confidence that he'll be an effective and productive representative for this district."

"As director, President, and treasurer of the Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Bill has been an excellent public servant," said Voepel. "He's well-liked and highly respected within this community, and I am proud to have him on my team."

A member of the board for six years, Pommering has served as President of the Board for three years, and treasurer for two.

Bill Pommering joins Assemblymember Brian Jones, El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, El Cajon Councilmember Star Bales, El Cajon Councilmember Gary Kendrick, El Cajon CouncilmemberBob McClellan, Santee Councilmember John Minto, Santee Councilmember Rob McNelis, Santee Councilmember Ronn Hall, Santee School Board Member Ken Fox, Cajon Valley Union School District President Justin Slagle, Padre Dam Municipal Water District Board President Doug Wilson, and the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County among Voepel’s early endorsers. 

Originally elected to the Santee City Council in 1996, Voepel was elected Mayor in 2000. Voepel is a U.S. Navy veteran with two combat tours of duty in Vietnam. A graduate from Saint Leo University, he is a businessman in financial services specializing in corporate benefits. He and his wife Susan have two children and three grandchildren.
